CTPark Bucharest West consolidates its position as a regional distribution hub

CTP has signed a new partnership with Kuehne+Nagel to develop a regional distribution center of 50,000 sqm that will serve Romanian, Bulgarian and Greek markets

Bucharest, October 27th, 2022 – CTP, the largest listed developer and administrator of industrial and logistics spaces in Continental Europe, is expanding its collaboration with the Kuehne+Nagel Group, one of the world’s leading logistics providers, already tenant in the CTP’s portfolio.

The over 50,000 sq m new lease transaction in its flagship CTPark Bucharest West is another confirmation of turning the spot in a regional hub as the goods will be dispatched not only in Romania, but also in Bulgaria and Greece.

Ana Dumitrache, Country Head, CTP Romania, declared:

“Romania has a major development potential in the operational and logistical sector at regional level, and this partnership confirms the trend and evolution of CTPark Bucharest West as a regional distribution hub, along with all the parks in our portfolio. This partnership, which has given our client the opportunity to triple the area already occupied in the park, confirms once again that our constant investment plan creates opportunities and offers our customers flexibility and solutions tailored to their business needs, whether they are developments in the local market or in the region.”

Kuehne+Nagel has entered in long-term strategic partnership with Pepco. The European-based company is a leading fast growing retailer offering apparel for the entire family and household products at very low prices and has been present in the Romanian market since 2015.

Launching in 2023, the partnership with Pepco entails warehousing and automation services for the end-to-end distribution for Romania, Bulgaria and Greece with over 50.000 sqm of warehouse space. The site will employ over 250 people and the day-to-day operations will be assisted by a top of the line pusher sorter.

The leasing transaction was brokered by the real estate consulting company JLL Romania.

Viorel Opaiț, Business Developer Director, JLL Romania, declared:

“We are honored to support Pepco and Kuehne+Nagel in this landmark transaction and glad to have found in CTP a true partner who values its customers’ needs and makes efforts to constantly adapt to them. We appreciate the trust they’ve placed in us during this project which is a vote of confidence from some of the most active players in the retail and logistics sectors and sends a strong positive signal on the dynamism of the industrial market .”

Located on the A1 highway at km 23, CTPark Bucharest West is the largest industrial park in Europe and has a leasable area of over 774,000 sq m to date. The park offers the highest life quality for its customers and for the over 2,000 employees who work for the companies present in the park, including medical services, restaurant, a coffee shop and relaxation areas. Moreover, people who work in the park can benefit from the services offered in Clubhaus, a high tech and sustainable space, of over 1300 sqm, which received the BREEAM Outstanding certification, and which functions as a platform for educational events, having a multifunctional amphitheater, but also meeting rooms and relaxation spaces, where clients can hold workshops and trainings.

From a technical point of view, the park offers high quality, energy efficient buildings and modern construction standards. All buildings have a height of 12 m and are designed as monoblock structures, which facilitates the installation of automations which create business and operational efficiencies. In addition, the storage spaces are also equipped with the necessary electrical capacity to support these automations, which are to be supplemented by solar panels, which will bring additional energy costs efficiencies. The technical infrastructure, as well as the quality of life in the park, which works as a magnet for the workforce immediate availability of the space and reliability of CTP as a partner, were important arguments for the decision maker to choose CTPark Bucharest West.
