CIE Metal CZ doubles its space in CTPark Hranice, second expansion since 2021
Prague, 16. October 2024 – CTP, Europe’s largest listed developer, owner, and manager of industrial and logistics properties by gross lettable area (GLA), announces a further expansion of the premises for CIE Automotive from CIE Automotive Group at CTPark Hranice. This is CIE Automotive’s second expansion with CTP, which will add 5,200 sqm to their existing premises. The project is expected to be completed in the first half of next year.
CIE Metal CZ, a company that designs and manufactures components for the automotive industry worldwide, has leased space in CTPark Hranice from 2021. The park, which is strategically located with direct access to motorways leading to Olomouc (30km), Ostrava (45 km) and Poland/Katovice (145 km), is ideally situated close to key automotive and high-tech supply chain routes.
The choice of CTPark Hranice was influenced not only by the high quality and readiness of the facility, which previously served similar production purposes, but also by the proximity to the end customer and the existing CIE plant in Valašské Meziříčí. The move reflects the growing trend of nearshoring, where companies are moving production closer to their customers in response to the changing geopolitical situation. In 2023, CIE expanded its production capacity to a total of 13,233 sqm to meet growing demand. This latest expansion will take place in warehouse HR5, for which CTP has already obtained planning permission, and is located in close proximity to the existing warehouse. The new space will thus allow for an efficient connection between production and warehouse, bringing increased operational efficiency to one location.
CIE uses the park’s facilities not only for storage purposes, but also for manufacturing, focusing on the dynamically developing field of electromobility and advanced technologies, including robotics. CTP has therefore adapted the premises to meet the automation of production and other specific needs of the client. As a result, Hall HR5 is equipped with special storage technologies and has BREEAM certification, including the possibility of installing photovoltaic panels, underlining CTP’s commitment to sustainability. Currently, CIE Automotive is also preparing for an increase in jobs as a result of the expansion.
