Developer CTP to be the Czech national partner at EXPO 2025
CTP has been announced as the Czech national partner at EXPO 2025, which will be hosted by Osaka, Japan next year. Based on the signed memorandum, the Business Lounge on the roof of the Czech national pavilion will be renamed the CTP Lounge.
The EXPO will be held in Osaka for the second time. Japan’s third largest city hosted the EXPO as early as 1970. The theme then was Progress for Humanity and this year’s organisers are building on more than 50 years of history. The motto of the current edition is “Designing Future Society for Our Lives” and its aim is to seek collaborative solutions to today’s global challenges using modern technology. EXPO is intended to provide a platform for opportunities to link knowledge, new technologies and relevant people in their respective fields, giving them the opportunity to share their approaches and find appropriate solutions. That is why the Czech Republic is looking for partnerships with companies that are progressive and where modern technology is part of their daily work.

About the Czech Pavilion at EXPO 2025
In December 2022, after more than twenty years, the Office of the Commissioner General announced an open anonymous architectural competition for the design of the national pavilion for EXPO 2025. 38 teams entered the competition, from which an expert jury headed by world-renowned architect Eva Jiřičná selected the winning design in the shape of a glass spiral by Apropos Architects in March 2023. The supporting structure of the building will consist of modern wooden panels, while the façade will be made of art glass, which has a centuries-old tradition in the Czech Republic. The National Pavilion will offer a worthy backdrop for the Czech participation in EXPO 2025, which will be held from April to October 2025 on the artificial island of Yumeshima in the Gulf of Osaka. The pavilion will house a permanent exhibition, a multifunctional auditorium, facilities for business meetings, a restaurant, a VIP lounge and a relaxation area in front of the pavilion overlooking the sea.
About Czech participation at EXPO 2025
The Czech Republic as an independent state will participate in the World EXPO for the sixth time. Ondřej Soška, who won the tender of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with his concept and theme “Talent and Creativity for Life”, will be the General Commissioner from September 2022. In Osaka, the Czech Republic should present not only what the Japanese know very well and have long admired, such as Czech glass and classical music, but also Czech innovations, nanotechnologies, promising start-ups and regional talent.
