Another certification for CTPark Opole as new warehouse receives ‘Excellent’ BREEAM In-Use rating
CTP, Europe’s largest listed developer, owner, and manager of industrial and logistics properties by gross lettable area (GLA), has been awarded the BREEAM International In-Use certificate at the “Excellent” level for its OPO2AiB building in CTPark Opole – CTP’s first production and logistics park in Poland. In doing so, it joined the OPO3 building, which earlier this year received the BREEAM International New Construction certification at the highest possible level of “Outstanding”.
In the certification process, the 12,469 sqm OPO2AiB building scored highest in categories such as pollution management and control (100/100), land resource management and ecology (82.6/100) and resilience to change (72.22/100).
The nature of the BREEAM International In-Use certification confirms the highest standards of the OPO2AiB hall in reducing energy consumption, minimising the amount of waste and pollution generated, or ensuring appropriate working conditions and lower maintenance costs, among others. The building has also been adapted to allow the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roof and makes use of intelligent systems for monitoring utility consumption, LED lighting and automatic control of outdoor lighting, helping the building to stand out for its reduced energy consumption. The facility also features water-saving plumbing fixtures and appliances and a petroleum separator. In terms of ensuring the comfort of tenants, CTPark Opole boasts a well-developed bicycle infrastructure, well-equipped social spaces and the ability to regulate the access of natural light and fresh air to the interiors. What is more, more than 30 per cent of the park’s area is made up of green spaces.
CTPark Opole is located in the Walbrzych Special Economic Zone and the Lower Silesian Automotive Cluster, in the north-western part of the city, next to its northern bypass connecting with the A4 motorway. Due to its strategic location, brands from the broader automotive industry including TitanX Engine Cooling, UFI Filters and International Automotive Components (IAC), as well as Raben and ELSTEEL, have opened their branches there.
This year alone, CTP Poland has announced three BREEAM certifications for its investments. In addition to the OPO3 building mentioned above, facilities in Sulechów (CTPark Sulechów, BREEAM International New Construction at the ‘Very Good’ level) and Iłowa (CTPark Iłowa, BREEAM International New Construction at the ‘Excellent’ level) received them.
