Country ESG manager

To support our growing activities, we are looking for a motivated professional to join us as a Country ESG manager who will strengthen the Czech team.

Department setting & Hierarchy

The role reports to the country CFO and has a functional reporting line to both the country MD and the Group head of ESG. The role is considered to be a business partner function with strong liaison and support to business functions (construction, property management, business development).

 

Purpose of the Role and Key Responsibilities

The key purpose of the role is to drive the ESG programs in the country, ensuring Group ESG goals, compliance and KPI’s targets are being translated into a local ESG operational plan, with clearly defined actions, responsibilities, frequent monitoring, and reporting. CTP has a pragmatic approach to ESG and it is the country ESG manager who ensures that ESG becomes business practice and as such a tool for both growing our business and relating to the interests of our stakeholders. The ESG manager acts towards local stakeholders and brings ESG to live.

 

This involves following key accountabilities:

• Support of Business Development teams in offering sustainable spaces to clients – feasibility analysis (ROI, YoC, environmental benefits), market analysis.
• Support for construction teams in analyzing and introducing sustainable solutions to projects.
• Introduction of solutions leading to improvement of BREEAM certificates in existing portfolio with Property management team and support in coordination of New Construction certificates for Construction Management team.
• Introduction of EU Taxonomy requirements into standing buildings and construction projects.
• Maintaining up to date database of portfolio ESG credentials such as certificates, Energy Performance Certificates.
• Provide for frequent ESG reporting to Group ESG
• Signal critical deviation from agreed plan and goals to senior management in order to contain potential risks and define corrective action planning.
• Presence at events promoting CTP ESG activity and results, contribute to social media and pr activities in related work fields.

 

Short term priorities for country ESG activity (2024)

• Installed and operational photovoltaic capacity
• Climate transition plan – CTP plan how to reach climate neutrality in own operations and value chain (including Energy procurement and production, portfolio retrofit, introduction of low carbon materials)
• Improvement of Energy mix – procurement of Green Electricity for all CTP uses, and possible tenant uses.
• Systemized approach to collect information on tenant satisfaction.
• Smart metering coverage
• GRESB score to be improved

The role requires a hands-on, pragmatic approach to ESG, driving an actionable plan and staying close to the business. It is important to be able to stick to a prioritized agenda. As ESG is not yet mature as part of our operations and strategy, we need the ESG manager to have an open mind, stay in close contact with business functions, and make sure that ESG actions are understood, and complexity of the matter is reduced. ESG requires a change management approach and the country ESG manager is pivotal in making this happening. Spending time in the field with construction and property management, spending time with tenants and understand what makes people move and take action is key to success.
