The Kingdom of the Netherlands opens an honorary consulate in Brno. CTP and its partners take the opportunity to present Brno as a technology hub

CTP, Europe’s largest listed owner, developer, and operator of logistics and industrial real estate by gross leasable area, hosted a joint business meeting organised on the occasion of the opening of the new Honorary Consulate of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Brno. Thanks to the Dutch origins of its founder, Remon Vos, CTP has a naturally strong connection to this country. The aim of the event, which took place on 25th November in cooperation with the Netherlands-Czech Chamber of Commerce, was to present Brno as an important European technology and innovation hub and to support the further development of Dutch-Czech business relations.

The opening of the new Honorary Consulate of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Brno underscores the growing importance of the region for Dutch-Czech relations. Brno is one of the most dynamic technology locations in the Central and Eastern European region. Thanks to its strong concentration of universities, research institutions, and modern infrastructure, the city is attracting an increasing number of international companies. Since 2001, CTP has been operating in Brno and the South Moravian region, where it owns and manages several technology and industrial parks, including CTPark Brno—home to leading high-tech companies such as Garrett Motion, Inventec, Honeywell, Hitachi, and Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Bert Hesselink, Group Client Relationship Director for CTP, explains:

“Each year, Brno confirms its position as a technology centre. The opening of the new Honorary Consulate of the Kingdom of the Netherlands is a clear signal of the business potential in the South Moravian region and the growing interest of international companies in the local innovation environment. We believe that the new consulate will further strengthen mutual ties and support further investment projects that will benefit the entire region.”

The program of the ceremonial business meeting was designed to provide participants with comprehensive insight into Brno’s technological environment and an opportunity to share experiences between companies. The morning session at Vlněna included presentations by representatives of CTP, the Department of Strategic Development and Cooperation of the City of Brno, and NTS, which were followed by discussions on technological trends and investment opportunities in the region. The afternoon program took place at Villa Stiassni, followed by a tour of the Starobrno brewery.

Wiegert Smallegange, Director of the Netherlands-Czech Chamber of Commerce, says:

“Our chamber has long supported an environment where new business relationships can be formed. Brno is extremely promising in this regard and today offers more business opportunities than ever before. It is home to a number of innovative companies, including CTP, which have long contributed to the development of the ecosystem and attracted experts from abroad to the city. We greatly appreciate such partners.”

The reason for opening the new consulate was also commented on by the new Honorary Consul and Chairman of the Netherlands-Czech Chamber of Commerce, Pavel Ivanyi: “I have been living in Brno for many years, and I can see how quickly the city is changing and how significantly its importance is growing internationally. The opening of the honorary consulate is therefore another logical step that will enable the Kingdom of the Netherlands to be closer to the people, companies, institutions, and talents operating in this dynamic region.”
