History
CTP begins the construction of the modern A4 office and residential building, incorporating sustainable technologies and spaces for shops, fitness centers, and restaurants. With 25,000 m² of leasable office space across 13 floors and over 255 rental apartments, the building is set to be completed in the first half of 2026.
The historic C8 building, originally from 1922, undergoes a thoughtful renovation to blend its industrial heritage with modern commercial use, symbolizing the union of the past and present.
Domeq I, II, and III residential buildings are constructed, forming Brno’s first co-housing project. With over 300 fully furnished apartments for young professionals, students, and expats, Domeq creates a community-driven living environment, offering private apartments alongside shared spaces like lounges, fitness areas, and event rooms.
CTP kicks off the first phase of revitalization, demolishing unused halls to make way for office and multi-purpose buildings. CTBox units are introduced for small and medium-sized businesses, offering the ideal combination of offices, showrooms, and storage.
CTP acquires the entire site with the goal of creating a modern multifunctional complex that includes office, commercial, residential, and recreational spaces. A new bike path is built, connecting the Vlněna and Ponávka areas to the southern part of Brno.
Following the regime change of 1989, the area is privatized, with the starch factories and slaughterhouses ceasing operations. Parts of the site begin to deteriorate over time.
Under state management after World War II, the starch factories and slaughterhouses continue to operate within a centrally planned economy, supplying meat products and starch for the region’s industries.
The area continues to fulfill its original purposes through World War I and the interwar period, undergoing modernization to meet growing demand. In 1924, the addition of the Masná burza, a functionalist building designed by architect Bohuslav Fuchs, improves the organization of meat trading.
On Masná Street, the starch factories and city slaughterhouses are established as key facilities for processing potatoes and meat. The starch factories focus on starch production, while the slaughterhouses cater to pork and beef processing and trade.
